The Amaze, if you want to even call it what its not.

I’ve recently for about a week now turned the HTC Amaze into my full time phone after coming off the HTC MyTouch4g which still to this day think its not only one of the best phones out there, but my favorite phone I’ve ever had. The Amaze however maybe not so much. The picture quality by far is the best out there, even above the new iPhone4S models. The 4.3″ screen size fits perfect in your hands, but the silver behind gets all dirty and is a pain to clean. The battery on the MyTouch4G will last me about 10-12 hours on my use, Amaze, changes its name to fail and last a horrible 5-6 hours with barley any use.

The Amaze minus the battery if their is even one on this phone is great IMO. I love the larger screen compared to the MyTouch4G even wishing at some times its larger. The backlit keys though are horrible as the light leaks onto the bottom of the screen. However how it response is awesome and I couldn’t ask for more.

The camera though is where this phone shines… Low light pictures like the one above are no problem for this phone as it can still take beautiful pictures even without the flash which I forgot to turn on. The details that the camera can pick up is nothing like any other mobile phone/device can come close to. I originally thought that the MyTouch4g had one of the best cameras out there however, once I put them side to side the Amaze blows it out of the water and its not even close.

Sense though kills this phone, why HTC thinks it needs to kill every single one of their phones by putting it on makes no sense. Such a beautiful phone and they kill it with bloatware and a horrible UI. I’d take Android on Cupcake over the look of Sense. Maybe because I’m an ASOP(Stock Android) kind of guy but this is horrible. Thankfully their are home launchers that you can download to not have to be forced to see Rosie and that UI any more. Really HTC, get rid of Sense already its horrible.

Battery life we wont even talk about since it took me longer to write this sentence than the battery lasted without me using it.

Performance wise I question as with playing Madden 2012 I’ll have times where the phone will freeze then restart, is this the phone or the game I’m not sure so I wont put blame on either. Living in Los Angeles I’m able to have faux 4G with T-Mobiles HSPA+ with speeds around 7kbps download and 1kbps upload. Which is no where near their claims of what this phone does. Nice more false advertising T-Mobile.

Overall I’m starting to like this phone once you root it and are able to find an ASOP Rom to put on. Until Sense is off this phone its crap. That and can HTC ever learn to have a phone have a battery that last?
