StartUp Watch: USTVnow

With all the recent backlash against major Cable providers and a push to “Cutting The Cord” USTV Now is hoping to assist in that process. As recent StartUp, not much press has been given to the company but as you read more into what they provide, the more you can’t wait to use it. However, there may be a catch, Is it legal?

You can sign up for a free trial of 2 weeks, but after that, the service costs $19 / month for the first three months ($29 / month if you want DVR services included). You can also purchase 1 day – week long plans.

Not only is this product avalible to use on any computer, but also most mobile devices, such as Android and iOS devices. Built on the premise of letting Americans and others view US shows over seas such as those in the Military, the ability to watch in America isn’t blocked though. Which is why there are questions among others if this is even legal.

Channels while not many, are specified for those top viewing ones. For the Free service, channels are ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC, PBS.  For the Paid plan, after the first 3 months of service a $19,99 and $29.99 after with No DVR functionality.

Want to step up to being able to use a DVR like functionality that saves your shows on their servers so no need to worry about space on your devices will run you $29.99 for the first 3 months, and $44 after.

For the paid plans what you’ll get is a long list of channels, to include; ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC, PBS, My9, A&E, Animal Planet, Bravo, Cartoon Network, CNBC, CNN, Comedy Central, Discovery Channel, ESPN, Food Network, FX, History, Lifetime, National Geographic, Nickelodeon, Spike, Syfy, TBS, TNT, USA

All channels are of the local Pennsylvania area, so those into sports, you may have to suffer watching a team you can’t stand. There is also an option for additional channels such as HBO, and Showtime however those are $99 and connected through another company.
