500 Startups Company From Buenos Aires, Wideo, Is The Easiest DIY Video Animation Platform

Wideo,500 startups, Buenos Aires startup, startup, startups, startup interviewWhen it comes time for pitch day there’s something that everybody wants, and that’s a good video. Sure most startups will work for weeks on end on the pitch deck, but going to the slide in the deck that has cute little fuzzy things hacking away at computers, the sunshining and little puppies dancing because your go to market strategy is so great, puts you above the rest.

While most startups, businesses and just your every day people, wish they had great animated videos, most aren’t that creative. That’s why animated video houses make the big bucks, and animated videos don’t fit in the lean startup budget.

Have no fear 500 startups startup, Wideo is here.

Wideo is a do-it-yourself animated video platform. You choose the characters, fonts, backgrounds, lighting, color, sound and more. You put it all together on a very easy to use creation tool, share your computer three times and voila, instant animation. You’ll be producing hit Saturday morning cartoons in no time.

All jokes aside though, Wideo is one bad ass startup and anything that can make my life as a startup founder easier, and at very little cost, is something that I like.

Dave McClure must have liked it to because those guys are creating millions of quick animation videos in the top secret 500 startups lair.

Check out our interview with Agu De Marco one of Wideo’s co-founders, below.

What is Wideo?

Wideo.co is a DIY animation video platform.

Who are the founders and what are their backgrounds

Let’s start with Agustin Esperón, who has a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Buenos Aires and has been designing, illustrating and making motion graphics for over a decade. He has worked with top-tier companies such as Disney, Nickelodeon, and Gourmet, and a lot of his work can be seen here.

And now me… Agu De Marco, I am an Industrial Engineer and serial entrepreneur with a Master’s (in progress) in Entrepreneurial and Innovation Development from University of Salamanca. I am the Co-Creator and Professor of EmprendING, a course on engineering entrepreneurialism, at the School of Engineering at the University of Buenos Aires. I also co-founded other startups in Argentina, notably interSpanish, RoadHouse, and Road2Argentina.

Where are you based?

Part of the team in Buenos Aires, Argentina and part in MountainView, CA

What is the startup culture like where you are based?

In Buenos Aires the startup culture is growing year by year…and it´s taking lot´s of thing from the Silicon Valley…the big difference is that in Argentina it´s harder to trust each other.

What problem does your startup solve?

It is expensive and time-consuming to make an animated video with designers/agencies and is nearly impossible for an amateur to make a video with existing professional software…also videos that can be made with easy-to-use software end up with very low quality…with wideo con do really cool videos really easy and for free!

What is one challenge that you’ve overcome in the startup process?

Creating the product…as none of the founders are developers that was challenge!!!

Whats one thing the world doesn’t know about you or your startup?

That we will become a noun :) In the future people will use ¨wideo¨as a noun…like ppt or prezi!

What’s next for Wideo?

Launching!!!
